Hi everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted on my blog, but if you follow me on my youtube channel, you would know it’s been a hectic year for me.
However the festive season is upon us, and my favourite SALE WEEK is just around the corner! Black friday is nearly here, and truthfully to make the most of it and pick up the pieces you really want you have to plan! So I’ve teamed up with LuisaViaRoma to share with you my top 5 investment pieces you can buy on sale, but will remain timeless and last you throughout the years!

1. A DESIGNER HANDBAG
Ok so I thought I’d start with a bang, and if you haven’t purchased yourself a luxury bag yet now is the time! LuisaViaRoma is one of the very few websites that offer great discounts on well known designer brands like Gucci, Fendi, Saint laurent just to name a few! I have a video sharing some key points you want to look for in your first designer bag if you want to watch it, but to summarise find something that is functional, versatile and will take you from day to night.
Some of my favourite pieces are this Saint Laurent Kate bag that has been a favourite of mine for several years. It’s great to wear during the day, and transitions perfectly at night. I bought mine in a croc-embossed design which means that it doesn’t scratch as easily. I got it in the medium so I can fit more during the day, however if you don’t carry a lot the small size is a wonderful alternative that will cost less, and if you’re super minimal it also comes as a wallet on chain!
Other alternatives include the Gucci Marmont flap, YSL classic wallet on chain, Loewe Puzzle bag, Givenchy Antigona, Balenciaga City Bags…. just to name a few!
Alternatively, If you’ve already got a few bags, this may be the opportunity to find some more trendy pieces / colourful pieces that are fun without feeling so guilty to spend full price.
2. A BEAUTIFUL PAIR OF SHOES
So when I’m not obsessing about bags, I loooove looking at shoes! I think a beautiful pair of well-made shoes are something EVERYONE needs. I have a pair of gucci loafers and when I walk in them it feels like absolute heaven! If you want something more casual, I actually own the Saint Laurent espadrilles and couldn’t recommend them enough! They look fantastic and wears so comfortably! However if you’re more of a high heels fan, you can’t go wrong with a beautiful nude pumps from Jimmy Choo that will take you from work to date night. If you want something with a bit more bling to make you feel like a princess, the Manolo Blahnik Hangisi are a cult favourite. They come in so many different styles from flats to heels to mules, I’m sure there’s one for everyone! And if you’re more of a sneakers girl, Balenciaga and Gucci offer a great range of statement but comfortable shoes.
Whatever your lifestyle, everyone deserves to have a nice pair of shoes to take them to wonderful new places!
3. A WELL MADE COAT / JACKET
Now I’ve always been more of a girl that splurges on accessories rather than clothing. After all, accessories you can wear multiple times with various outfits, whilst designer clothing pieces are such a statement you can usually only wear them a few times.
Nonetheless I do think that an exception to this is a well fitting jacket / blazer / coat. It can be something you can wear daily, and still be perfectly acceptable. Now depending on the brand, this can get quite expensive. Balmain blazer has been an outerwear favourite for it’s fit, the statement silhouette and luxurious feeling. Personally, I find it doesn’t quite suit my style however the Burberry trench coat is something I have my eye on, and will be stalking like crazy this Black Friday sale. If you live in a much colder climate, you can’t go past a beautiful Moncler down coat.
Now you don’t have to spend thousands of dollars to feel like a million dollars. Sometimes a well made, luxurious-feeling jacket is all you actually need. Two years ago I bought the AllSaints Balfern leather Jacket, and I honestly have not looked back. It’s a great price for the quality, and it’s a wonderful universal fit that will be flattering on everybody shape and size! Everyone needs a leather jacket!
4. A LUXURY WALLET
So this might not seem like an investment for a lot of people, but how many times in the past few years have you had to replace your wallet? If I’m being honest finding a good well made wallet was actually what got me into buying luxury in the first place. I was always replacing the wallet that I had, as it would often get too stuffed and the stitching would pull and fall apart. I actually think that if there is one item that will test the quality of a brand, it is a wallet / card holder.
My favourites are definitely from Saint Laurent. I’ve recently down sized, so something small and compact that can fit into my smaller handbags have been perfect for my everyday use. I also love the ones with a key holder as I can attach my keys and never have to worry about leaving my keys or wallet behind. If you’re more of a full wallet kind of girl, Gucci and Fendi offer some great styles for a great price. I love the feel of a full leather wallet, however canvas will often last all wear and tear placed upon it, so would recommend that material if you’re a bit more rough on your items.
5. A STATEMENT ACCESSORY
Ok, I know. This sound redundant because haven’t my previous recommendations been some sort of accessory? Well yes, but this is slightly different. When I say a statement accessory, find something that you can wear and feel special wearing. Earlier this year I bought the JW Anderson sphere earrings (sold out sorry!), and I have never looked back! They are costume jewellery, but because they’re such a statement piece they make me feel so fabulous wearing them. If you’re not an earring girl, perhaps a gorgeous pair of statement sunnies are more your style. Maybe a beautiful brooch that you can use attach to you sweaters, jackets, hats and scarves? Alternatively, if you’re more practical but want something that can make even the day to day seem special, a well made pen from MontBlanc might take your fancy.
This is probably the least necessary of the 4 other mentioned, but sometimes it’s what can make you feel the difference between good and great.
