Customise your Christmas with Personalised Gifts from Etsy
Stuck on gift ideas for your loved one, but still want to get them something personal and amazing? Have no fear! I have you covered with my Etsy Christmas Gift Guide!
So when I was asked to collaborate with Etsy Australia this Christmas I couldn’t have been happier. I’ve been a shopper of Etsy for years, having bought a million stickers and washi tapes from there before, and so I knew immediately that I wanted to do it!
When it comes to personalised, quirky gifts – Etsy is the place. It is the utopia/mecca for anything and everything that can be customised. And what could be a better gift than something that has been made specifically for that special person? So here I am, bringing you some of my favourites and actual christmas gifts that I’ll be giving to my loved ones this year, along with some other amazing alternatives.
For Him.
So first gift idea is for that special man / men in our lives. Now since I’ve already purchased my partner his Christmas present, the other special man that I wanted to gift was my father.
He is a functional man, with simple but elegant tastes. I wanted something that was personal, but not over the top. There were a few gifts that I came across that I thought would be perfect for him (or for any special guy out there for that matter – husband, brother, boyfriend). I came across this wooden watch which I thought was brilliant because it was quirky and different, but still functional. I also loved that you could customise it to include a special engraving on the back. This would be perfect for a partner, or even a much loved brother!
I also came across some monogramed alcohol decanter with some matching glasses. If you have a man who loves his alcohol this would be perfect!
Finally I decided that a wallet would be best suited for him, and this monogramed leather wallet was it! I played with the idea of cardholders (like this one), or even a simple pouch (like this). But ultimately I decided on this wallet because it’s familiar but with a touch of elegance and personality. I love that you can pick your initials in gold or silver foil, and for the plain janes out there (like my father) – just simple clear embossing. It turned out great and I’m sure this is something he would love for sure!
For Her.
Now for that special lady, I feel like you really can’t go wrong with jewellery. I mean, what girl doesn’t love bling? Luckily, jewellery is where you can go absolutely mental with personalising your gift on Etsy!
One of my absolute favourites was this gorgeous necklace which has an opal pendant along with a personalised disc plate. I instantly fell in love with the chain, the daintiness of the pendant, and of course the price! I loved it soooo much… that I might have actually bought this one for myself! (Oops!!)
But honestly, I could spend hours looking at the amazing customisable jewellery available on Etsy. There were so many beautiful pieces that I almost couldn’t decide which one to order. One of the other pieces I was looking at was this beautiful bar necklace that you could customise with your name and coordinates. This would be perfect for a special someone, and you could engrave it with the coordinates of where a special moment took place – for example where you met, your first home together, your favourite restaurant… the list could go on!
There was also a beautiful larger pendant which would be perfect for sentimental mums or grandmothers where you could get names engraved. It could be their brothers/sisters, children, or even the names of their pets!
Another great gift idea were these cuff bracelets which you could engrave basically anything you want (even your own handwritting if you wanted!). And of course for the ring lovers out there, these stackable customised rings are beautifully dainty! The gift ideas in this category are endless! Like, trully endless!
For the boys.
So for the boys… those darn boys. This is for those guy friends we all have, work colleagues or even siblings / brothers in law. I actually come from a large family of 7, with 3 of them being younger brothers. You can imagine that sometimes buying gifts for these boys can be particularly hard. If I’m honest, most of the time (if not all the time..) I do get variations of the same gift for each brother. When I came across these personalised army knives and I just thought – Brilliant! One for each brother and I’m sweet! I remember getting my dad an engraved army knife from Switzerland many years ago, and it actually went down a treat! It’s a great gift for guys because it’s functional and they’re always handy! I mean what guy would say no to one of these? (Let be honest, if I received one I certainly wouldn’t be complaining!) The wood finish is also an amazing touch because it takes it from functional to cool!
There are actually a few different fonts/styles of engraving you can choose from, and if army knives are not your thing, there are also bottle openers, hip flasks or even beer holders which you can personalise and gift to any boy in your life.
For the girls.
Now you can actually pick any gift ideas that I’ve already mentioned above for a girlfriend. For example jewellery is always a great pick, and a personalised wallet/cosmetic case can work well too. But just to change things up, I why not get them a customised foil print decoration? With this one I just chose a motivational quote that was in-stock and ready to be shipped… but you can actually customise it to say anything you want! Maybe an in-joke, or even a motivational quote the both of you identify with. Alternatively you can just put their name, or their latest achievement! Sky is the limit with this, and home decor usually goes down well as a christmas gift! To add an extra touch, find a beautiful vintage frame to add character to the foil print you picked out!
Alternatively you could go for the bath and beauty section. Etsy is the place to go for customised soap / gels / bath bombs. You could even pick gift packs which are wrapped beautifully with a variety of mixed goodies like this one (which comes facial mask goodies) or this one (which will be perfect for a nice relaxing bath).
If your girl friend has a bit of a green thumb, I found this really creative gift basket with succulents! It’s adorable and totally different from any other gift pack that you can by anywhere else!
Lastly, why not get a little knick-nack such as these gingerbread earrings. Hello, are they not the most adorable little earrings you’ve ever seen?! There’s such a variety in the type of little polymer clay earrings you can get! There are christmas trees and snowmen to keep the festive spirit, but also donuts, cookies, pretzels and even cupcakes! Buy your friend her favourite food to wear on her ears this christmas! (They’re way too cute not to love!)
For them.
So finally, for the collective. When I mean them I refer to the group of people we sometimes gift collectively because it’s easier – not only for time management, but also on the wallet. For example a family, newly wed couple, your in-laws or your grandparents! Sometimes it’s not always feasible to give individual presents, however buying a collective present doesn’t have to mean cheap either. I found some amazing gift ideas that are thoughtful, but still easy on the pocket!
The piece I selected for this cateogry is this beautiful handcrafted book decoration for my parents. It got me because it’s so quintessentially Etsy! When you think of beautiful, handmade, handcrafted pieces you think of Esty and pieces like this. I mean It’s essentially a book, but someone was clever enough to figure out a way of folding it, to form a word! How amazing is that! You can pick two letters with a love heart (like what I’ve done), or you can also pick a name or a word (like Christmas!) The options are endless, and this was and actually amazing pick for the price! It’s a one of a kind gift, and perfect for that couple who have everything!
Another other amazing couple/family gift idea is a customised cheese board. There are so many designs, and they’re perfect for any couple who have just gotten married! This particular design I think is gorgeous, but you can also get customised chopping boards or wooden serving cutlery if that is preferred!
And finally, one of my absolute favourite and one I will be getting next year for sure is this beautiful family cross-stitch! I really wanted to get one but unfortunately they were all sold out when I was looking at the time. However if I was you, I’d definitely bookmark this page so that when it goes back in stock you can order one asap! It’s a sweet little gift and will be a hit no matter who you gift it to! I mean, not only can you have every member the the family included, you can also include pets/animals too! How cute is that! And lets be honest… who doesn’t love a cross stitch of themselves? TRUST ME, this is one you have to check out!
So that’s it!
That is my Etsy Christmas gift guide to the special people in your lives. Let me know if this helped, or if it gave you some good ideas that you can gift to your loved ones. Believe it or not, I’m not actually the best at picking gifts for people. But Etsy makes it so easy to get someone something that is perfectly personalised for them!
You guys should let me know – what was your personal favourite from my picks!
